The Ultimate All-Inclusive Resort Packing List (From Someone Who Overpacks)

July 25, 2026

Confession: I used to be a chronic overpacker. Like, two suitcases for a five-night trip kind of overpacker. But after visiting dozens of all-inclusive resorts, I've finally cracked the code on exactly what you need.

The Essentials

*Swimwear (3-4 sets)* — You'll want at least one for the pool, one for the beach, and a backup. Trust me, nothing is worse than putting on a wet swimsuit.

*Coverups (2-3)* — For walking between the pool and restaurant. Most resorts have a casual dress code for lunch, and a cute coverup does double duty.

*Reef-safe sunscreen* — Please, please protect the coral reefs! SPF 50, reef-safe formula. Your skin and the ocean will thank you.

*A great book or Kindle* — All-inclusive vacations are MADE for reading by the pool. Load up your Kindle or bring that novel you've been meaning to start.

What Most People Forget

  • A waterproof phone pouch (essential for pool and beach photos!)
  • Aloe vera gel (just in case)
  • A nice outfit for the fancy restaurant night
  • Zip-lock bags for wet swimsuits on travel day

  • What to Leave Home

  • Hair dryer (every resort has one)
  • Towels (resorts provide pool and beach towels)
  • Too many shoes (flip flops, sneakers, one nice pair — done)

  • Happy packing, gorgeous! Tag me @islamonroetravel in your resort photos! 🌴
